PSYCHE

I was a lone wanderer
Greatly admired, never loved

but Love saw and pondered, till
He descended from above.

He comes to me every night
And showed me with love so true
But I never saw him by light,
And I promised never to.

Till one day my sisters came
And told me things about him,
And I was never the same
He's not the man he seems.

I couldn't hurt him
However frightened I may be
But I needed to see the face of him,
I who was married to he.

Lo and behold, he's but none
But the God of Love himself
But he woke and he was gone,
I was left to woe myself.

"Love cannot live where there is no trust"
His last words will hunt me forever
Follow and find him, I will and must
For my love for him will fade never

I labored so under his mother
Just so I could have one glimpse of him
But the tasks seemed to have grown harder
But love toils, of that much I have seen.

At last, Love came to stand beside me again
In front of all the gods in the heaven high
We never did part since then as known to men,
We're now the "heart and soul" as they watch the sky.
